The 'Tone will be opening the show in support of the quite superb Brian Jack Letdown and the deliciously excellent Travelling Band. XFM and NME Radio DJ Iain Barker will be spinning the discs post gig and carrying the fun into the wee hours. You would have to be seriously mental not to attend. You can pre-order tickets online at www.wegottickets.com/40692. Alternatively, drop us a line and get your name down for the door and we will ensure you get in at the lower rate. The Luminaire is on Kilburn High Road and a map of the venue location can be found here. One Man Melt have a website which you can go and look at here. More info is as ever online at www.echotone.co.uk or on our MySpace page, where some really rather awesome tunes can be downloaded free of charge. Afternoon chum
Big thanks and much love to those of you who came to our recent gigs at Chelmsford FC and The Fleece. We had a brilliant time and thought you were great.
For those of you who could not make it, despair not; the 'Tone will be playing live and in person down in The Bassment, Chelmsford on Wednesday 7th May. This really does promise to be a superb night, one of the venue's 'Acoustic Evenings' (though - sssssh - we may cheat a bit on the acoustic side of things a bit). We will also be playing brand new choons for your aural delectation.
Things kick off at 8:00 pm and tickets are a mere £4 with the flyer that you can get here . More details are also available on the Gigs page.
For your diaries in the future, the band will also be performing at Spelmanbury 2008 in Ockendon, Essex on Saturday 14th June. More info on this will be forthcoming but this will be a full day of excellent live bands from all over the country along with DJ's, BBQ, a raffle, and a bouncy castle. Yes, you read correctly, a bouncy castle. That alone is reason enough to turn up. More info is available via the Gigs link above and at www.myspace.com/onemanmelt.
Also to remind you that on our MySpace page you can download a selection of really quite excellent tunes absolutely FREE of charge. Free music - have at it!
Keep it keen,
the 'Tone
Hey there good looking
So, how has 2008 been treating you so far? The winter was a bit naff, wasn't it? Yeah, tell us about it. Didn't get what you wanted for Christmas, eh? Terrible shame. Wife ran off with your cousin Leslie? Blimey. And cousin Leslie is a woman? Err, can't really identify 100% with that one but still, sounds rubbish.
Never fear though, echotone are back to soothe your ills with some fantastic, harmony-laden frock (folk and rock. Work it out). The 'Tone are embarking on a mini-tour of the mysterious wonderland that is Chelmsford, Essex, on which they will be playing new material and generally wowing you right in your head sockets.

THE BASSMENT - Wednesday 7th May, 8:00 pm

There will plenty more to come from us in the months ahead, including more live dates and perhaps even some new recordings. We hope to see you at the show(s).

Living On Cloud 666 - 27/07/07
For those of you that may not have noticed, there is a new track available for you to listen your brains out to on the Jukebox page. It's called Cloud 666 and is really rather excellent if we say so ourselves. We have played it at a few gigs before but this is it recorded - let us know what you think.
Thanks to all of you who came along to the last gig at the Pleasure Unit. We had our disgareements with the sound man on the night but your support was superb as always and very, very much appreciated. We think you're all great (especially you). We also debuted two brand new songs, Turn The Pain Away and You And Me.
We were recently profiled in the Essex Chronicle's GO! Magazine. You can see a scan of the very nice article on the Press page.
Also, as those of you on the mailing list will be aware, the 'Tone appeared on US radio this past Saturday, 21st July. We imagine that a bunch of you quit your jobs and moved out to Richmond, Virginia to tune into Richmond Indie Radio in time for this momentous event (if not why not?). Our big thanks to Gene Pembleton from 'The British Breakfast' on WRIR 97.3 FM (www.wrir.org, radio fans) for playing us. Top man, Gene.
More recording is happening behind the scenes and more new tunes are in the pipeline. We shall be back with more as soon as we can. Still then, stay hungry.

Website launch for Echotone "the band"
Echotone have expanded into a band, yes that's right. The original members, James and Lee (vocals, guitars) are now joined by Paul Whibley (drums) and Melanie Ferguson (vocals, keys, percussion). This is great news, as now you can enjoy the sound of a full band with the 'Tone's fantastic three part harmonies.
With new tracks and a new sound, Echotone took to the studio and recorded 6 of their new tracks in a 'live recording' at Stag Studios in Witham/Essex. You can hear some of these on the jukebox which is on the media page - go and have a listen.
Echotone are currently setting up new gigs in Essex and London and have already produced a cracking set at The Queens Theatre in Hornchurch. Their first gig made the local news paper and gained a fantastic review with Echotone being the highlight of the night. Check out the review here .
Go and surf the site, and get in touch if you want to by going to the Contact Form.
Until next time,
